There are a couple of options when traveling to Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros from Cebu or from Cebu to Dumaguete. Dumaguete City is located in the southeastern part of Negros Island while Cebu City is at the center of Cebu Island’s eastern coast, the closest distance between both islands is at the Tanon Strait situated near the southern tip of Cebu Island.

Via Liloan / Port (Van– Fastcraft-Bus) –4 to 5 hours / P250-P300
A bit cheaper and a faster option than going direct via Ceres Bus but is only recommended for passengers who are traveling light. Go to South Bus Terminal in Cebu and take a bus or van (V-hire) to Liloan Port. Then from there, take a fastcraft / pumpboat (motorized outrigger), to Sibulan Port. From the highway, ride a bus to Dumaguete City. There are buses / fastcrafts / pumpboats leaving every hour. Total fare is around P250-P300.
Via Bato / Tampi Port (Van–RoRo-Bus – 4 to 5 hours / P250-P300
Same as above but from the South Bus Terminal in Cebu, take a bus to Bato Port (Santander, Cebu). You will be disembarking in Tampi Port in Amlan at the Oriental Negros side. There are less pumpboats / fastcrafts at this route but there’s a Maayo Shipping Roll-on Roll-of service here if you’re bringing your car/bike with you.

Are there any late ferries from Cebu to Negros? My flight doesn’t get into Cebu until 1945 so wondering if any buses to the Tampi ferry at that time?
Thanks

Hi, very helpful post! i’ve been googling ways to go from cebu to dumaguete as we will be visiting those places this december and have no clue since im from manila! looking for a cheap way to travel, etc.. all this time i thought Ocean jet and fast crafts to sibulan were one and the same. i was wrong. Do you have any idea though of the fast crafts’ schedules ( a website we can go to, etc) and how to go from the airport of cebu to the southern terminal?
