Ifugao (Banaue) Rice Terraces

Sometimes called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the 2000-year-old Ifugao Rice Terraces spread across the mountain ranges of Ifugao Province is one of the most prominent landmarks of the Philippines and is listed as a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO.

The most spectacular views are in Banaue Town Proper, Batad, and Cambolo. There are excellent viewpoints along the highway to Bontoc just a few kilometers from Banaue Town Center. The panoramic view on the highest viewpoint in Banaue almost accurately resembles the illustration of the Ifugao Rice Terraces printed on the PHP1,000 bill.
