The construction of the Laguindingan International Airport is currently in full swing. The new airport, which will primarily serve the greater Cagayan de Oro – Iligan area, is expected to be completed late this year on December 2010 with commercial operations starting as early as January 2011. The Laguindingan International Airport was built to replace Cagayan de Oro’s Lumbia Airport known to be the 2nd busiest airport in Mindanao and the 5th in the whole Philippines in terms of passenger traffic in 2009. maganda yung airport, sana yung perang ginamit sa paggawa nyan ay hindi kinurakot. baka mga substandard ang mga materyales na ginamit dyan kasi baka kinurakot na ang perang panggawa ng airport na yan.
pero maganda sya dahil mas marami na ang magiging interntional airport dito sa Pilipinas at malapit sya sa baybaying dagat at mas lalaong nang gaganda ang Cagayan de oro or yayaman dahil sa coming na international airport

This airport greatly enhanced the development of Cagayan de Oro City and Northern Mindanao Region. Any delay means opportunity lost on behalf of the people living there.
