The Cebu City Museum at Fuente Osmeña, houses some 100 paintings, 50 sculptures, antique chinaware, furniture, woodcarvings, and a few archaeological finds. The Cebu City Public Library occupies the first floor and has a set of rare book about Cebu history and culture in its collection.

The Cebu City Library and Museum was opened to the public on March 16, 1992 and named after the Philippines’s national hero. The building was built before World War II and was used temporarily as a hospital in the 1940s.
